Why there is 1.25Gbps bandwidth limit on AWS Site to Site VPN tunnel?

Where does this bottleneck come from? Does it have to do with the encryption processing overhead? Why there is 1.25Gbps bandwidth limit on AWS Site to Site VPN tunnel? Please help me. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
