Will Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client v.3.1 work with Mac OS 10.11 (El Capitan)

I use Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client  version 3.1 to access, via VPN, my Windows work station on my desk i( at a major university teaching hospital). I am a plain end user needing to access my workstation when I work from home.

I use Mac OS "Mavericks" currently but want to install the new  OS "ElCapitan".I have noted that there is a newer version of the AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client. That worries me.Recalling previous difficulties with compatibility it behooves me to inquire a priori, if my current version of the  Cisco AnyConnect Mobility Client will work with the new Mac OS or what I can do to make it work.

Knowing my employer, there will be little interest in supporting me as a Mac user  but I cannot obtain the newest  Cisco client on my own.

Will be appreciative of response re: usability of the  version 3.1 with "El Capitan"

New operating support for AnyConnect 3.x ended in July 2015. El Capitan is not a supported operating system for the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client, Release 3.x. However, Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client, Release 4.1 is compatible with...AnyConnect Ordering Guidefor information on AnyConnect Plus and Apex licenses, which grant access to AnyConnect 4.x software.

Thank you Pjain2 but  you did not understand what I wrote. I am a staff member of a very large bureaucratic  institution. I do not have access to the corporate license for AnyConnect!

I am an employee using the Macintosh operating system at home and so I need the new AC client 4.1 in order to install the new Mac OS.  I wish the end user clients were readily available -

even if you get a 4.x client for your MAC, it may not work because the way 3.x and 4.x works is different and they use different licenses as well.

Question:

Does anyone know that the  3x client no longer works on "ElCapitan"? Or is it just that Cisco no longer will work on bug reports for that version of its AC ?

And you are saying that my institution must install new base software or obtain a new license?

Sorry I won't be helpful, but I am a brand new Mac user and I have a MacBook Pro with El Capitan (10.11.3) installed and I have Cisco AnyConnect (V. 3.1.03103) and when I try and connect I can get to the banner page that says it is monitored and I have to accept, but it will not connect, this is the message I get: The AnyConnect package on the secure gateway could not be located. You may be experiencing network connectivity issues. Please try connecting again.

I have not been able to get any resolution, and like you don't have a license to download V.4 of AnyConnect. So I am at a loss of what to do.
