Windows Messenger over VPN between two PIX firewall

We experience a lot of problems with the Sign In on Windows Messenger over VPN between 2 PIX firewalls. Most of the time, several Sign In attempts are necessary, before we get connected. Once connected, everything works fine.

Is there anything known about this?

Since you have not mentioned the OS version, I am guessing that your problem has nothing to do with VPN. Rather, it has to do with the PIX and that you might be running into CSCdy26037. Basically, Messenger uses Universal Plug and Play which is not supported.
