I have a user that is getting disconnected for our VPN. He receives a message telling him that" Secure VPN connection terminated locally by the client, Reason: Lost contact with the security gateway. Check your network connection.
At the same time he receives a Windows messgae: Windows needs your current credentials. Please lock this computer, then unlock it using your most recent password or smart card. Please click this icon to see more information.
This user has not changed his password recently. He is running Windows XP service pack 1. He is using VPN Client version 4.0.2. We have many users using this same configuration but this one is the only one having this problem.
Any suggestions?

Make sure that the "force logoff when logon time expires" Windows Policy is not set. Computer Policies > Local Policies > Security Settings .........

Those settings are at the default. I worked with this computer this morning again and it does not always disconnect with the VPN when this message comes up.
This morning I had it doing it almost constantly. I was connected, working in Lotus Notes and when I tried to create an attachment it began doing this constantly!
I also tried setting the group policy \administrative\templates\system\logon to "enabled" as I had seen suggested in other places and it did no good!
Still looking for suggestions!
