Hi all,

I was new to Ironport product, but i would like to setup PAC hosting for cisco ironport S170, we got two site , and we have one S170 on each site.

i would like to setup this on one site first, but i not sure how to set it up.I just need if one of appliance failure, then users HTTP request will re-direct to another applicance.

Seems both site appliance was live, if i enable the PAC on one appliance during office hour, would it have user affect?

i would appreciate if someone can tell me, how i put the pac file onto the appliance, and how to create the pac file. Also, currently users IE setting, we use GPO to enter the proxy server address and port 80..if implement the PAC ..do i need to adjust the IE setting as well?

Thanks

Hi,

For designing your PAC file jst look on the internet, the below link seems to be a thorough guide:

http://www.proxypacfiles.com/proxypac/

To add a PAC file to the IronPort go to the Security Services tab and select PAC file hosting, you can upload your PAC file here.

This will have no effect until you tell your users to start using, so you will need to change your users IE settings.  "Use automatic configuration script" and then type in the address of your PAC file, e.g. http://ipaddress:port/PROXY.PAC.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Chris
