if change hardware (s series), it is still posible to use license you has? where can i read how license work with S series IronPort?

License is tied to serial number.
You can not transfer licenses between devices, you need to obtain the specific license as you are entitled to, based on your contract.
The device as configured, automatically connects to Ironport servers, if connected to the internet, to obtain the feature key/license that applies to it, per your contract.
Further information on the GUI > Top right hand side > Support and Help > On Line Help > Search for "Working with Feature Keys".

As i understand, if i have license for 500 users and device fail, i still can use those license with my zip-device but need renew it, based on my contract. Am i right?
i just whant to know if we need to buy duplicate device for backup, and how fast it can be replaced if something happend.

Which 500 user license do you mean?
Which Ironport device are you reffering to?
What do you mean by zip-device?
