Hi there
Late last year we installed a Cisco ASA 5506 for a client
We initially had connection issues, certain sites not loading (such as cisco.com). This turned out to be DNS related and resolved.
However we soon found that our virtual machines (Hyper-V 2012 R2) weren't performing properly.
Web pages would not load, but then on 3rd or 4th try they would. Or part would.
It was very difficult to download files, and software that communicated to outside wouldn't operate properly.
Process of elimination, we disabled NIC teaming and a few other possible causes. However removing the firewall got the VMs working properly again.
So the firewall has been on the bench ever since. I really need help to sort this out (already lost nearly a year of subscriptions.)
Has anyone else come across the same issue ?
I can't seem to make sense of it.
All other PCs on the "inside" network worked fine.
Any advise will be greatly appreciated. I'll hook it back up tomorrow to provide a running config.

First make sure that you upgrade to the suggested ASA release (I would use the newest 9.6 interims-release; don't forget the new ASA ROMMON) and the newest 6.2.0.2 Firepower release. Perhaps that will solve your problems.

I reckon it would solve my problems
Except Cisco won't let me download any updates, apparently I need to pay for a support contract just to download the upgrades.
Quick rant: how %&^ stupid that you have to pay to download an upgrade to fix a fault present in the supplied firmware/software.
Will see how much it costs, but have a feeling we'll be better off throwing it in the bin and going elsewhere.
