Hi,
We have set up Ironport Web Appliance and are in the process of setting up Sawmill Server for Logging purposes. We intend to keep the log files on a shared network drive (SAN) .Will a network drive affect the performance of sawmill database. If so, what is the best set for the Sawmill Server?
Thanks,
Abhi

Abhi,
Yes, storing the Sawmill data on a SAN drive will negatively affect performance. It's always recommended to host the files on a local HDD.
Performance differences can very greatly from network to network, so I can't provide any more specifics then that. It's possible that you won't have any problems, depending on the load.

Yes it is going to affect performance, especially when the database grows, and access logs tend to grow fast.
Are you storing your database as simple files or using Mysql database?
In the second case you could use database optimization, but still having problems.
