Hi,
I am trying to deploy transparent proxy redirection for internal users at a client's site. The client was using ASA firewall earlier for wccp redirection and now wants to change it to a layer 4 switch (Cat 3750). After having configured the switch and wsa for transparent proxy, the switch shows a "bad rcv_id" in its debug message. WSA is directly connected to the switch and the mode has been set to L2 and mask in WSA. The router identifier in the switch is set to the SVI interface facing WSA's subnet. the redirection acl is applied on SVI facing the client side. sh ip wccp <id> detail reveals a "NOT USABLE (initializing)" state. what could be the reason for the debug to show "Here I am received wiht bad rcv_id" which in turn leads to wccp initialization failure. Any suggestions would help..
Scenario:
Internal Address: 10.1.1.0/24
Redirection ACL applied on SVI: 10.1.1.1
WSA: 10.1.2.0/24
WCCP Router identifier in Switch: 10.1.2.1
WSA and Switch are directly connected.
Cheers,
Rajesh.

Hi Rajesh,
What version of code are you using on the WSA and Switch?

The CAT switch is running IOS 12.2(44)SE and the WSA is running an OS version of 7.1.3.. Thanks for your reply!
