WSA bundle license subscription

hi All,

Im confusing about the bundle license in WSA380. i list down here the licenses which are bundled in WSA380.

WSA-S380-K9

WSA S380 Web Security Appliance with Software

WSA-CASM-LIC		WSA Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility License
WSA-PROXY-LIC		WSA Proxy and Dynamic Vectoring and Scanning License
WSA-L4TM-LIC		WSA L4 Traffic Monitoring License
WSA-HTTPS-LIC		WSA HTTPS Inspection License

As i see that, there are 4 licenses was bundled in WSA380. My question is: Do we need to buy subscription for these licenses year by year?

or we just buy the support service for the Appliance (for exam: Smartnet total care), by default these license will be automatically active.

Hi there,

All of the licenses quoted are perpetual licenses that come with the WSA. From the list above, it appears that you have no security services licensed on the unit. In this case, the only thing you need to purchase to extend support is Smartnet.

hi, if i don't extend the Smartnet, can i use these licenses? what is the advantage of smartnet for this case.

Just to get back to this: Without smartnet, your box will have no access to software upgrades, updates, or any hardware support. You're basically turning it into a HTTP proxy which will work until it fails :)
