Freezing location of students in grid view?

Is there a way to freeze everyone's location so one doesn't have to keep finding them in grid view?  Seems we can pin up to 6 in place but would be great to have a control to lock everyone in place!  Imagine a classroom where 25 kids are frequently swapping seats...
