Hi, we have used the same method for recording over 15 times, however we recently got a webex file downloaded instead of mp4. We always take the below steps, anyone know what may have went wrong or how to access the screen share recording
Host shares screen- records 'to computer'- selects desktop (only file option is mp4)-stop recording- mp4 downloads to desktop. What went wrong that our desktop icon is an internet browser with 'webex file' + appears to have recorded our video face not our screen share???

Your screen layout determines what is actually recorded. You may want to verify your Screen Layout for Recordings settings to ensure it is set to your desired option. https://help.webex.com/en-us/530fzu/Select-the-Screen-Layout-for-Recordings-in-Webex-Meetings-and-Webex-Events
The recording format is also determined based on your site version and settings as well. https://help.webex.com/en-us/n62735y/Record-a-Webex-Meeting
