Webex Status Showing Inactive Even While Using my Computer (M1 Mac)

My status in Webex shows me as "Active X Minutes Ago" (Inactive), even while I'm using my computer. The only way to be shown as active, is to send or read a Webex message. Previously, I did not have to necessarily read or send a message, and could remain "active" by simply using my computer. This is problematic, because my co-workers may think I've stepped away, or am unavailable, when in reality I'm working at my computer but just have not sent or read a Webex message recently.

Does anyone have ideas for how I can configure Webex to show me as active while using my computer, as it's always done in the past?

Looks like only Cisco employees are getting this issue - caused by WebEx 45.2.0.31304, and this is because this version is not released for customers yet. Customers are still on 44.12.x.

Cisco Employees on Cisco's network, you can download the newer 45.2.0.31412 that fixes this issue from here:
https://spark-nfs.cisco.com/versions/#/upgrades?filter=all

I am facing this issue on 44.10.0.30906.

I'm having the same issue - running WebEx 45.2.0.31304 on MacOS 15.2 with Apple Silicon M3 Pro.
WebEx show that I'm idle - even when I'm typing text. It takes a few interractions with the WebEx to show me as Green.
I can also mark myself as busy and then clear status.

Hey, I don't want to be overconfident, but I might have found a solution. I have done very limited testing so far, but it looks like the issue is resolved.

As many people have pointed out, the problem is in the 45.2.0.31304 build (and I was using it myself, see Webex -> About Webex to confirm your build).

However, there is another available build - 44.12.0.31359. Based on the major version, it should be slightly older, but it is the public release from the 4th of December (see https://help.webex.com/en-us/article/mqkve8/Webex-App-%7C-Release-notes).

So I just uninstalled my 45.2.0.31304 and installed 44.12.0.31359, and everything seems to be working fine so far.

Just in case, you can download it from the official page here: https://www.webex.com/downloads.html

I'm facing the same issue here. I noticed the issue since the last update.

I have Webex 45.2.0.31304 and a a 13-in MacBook Pro core i5.

My status has been inactive all week. I need to send a message every 10 minutes to change it to "Active." I am pretty sure there is something wrong, The last time I reported the issue I could not attach any evidence to Jira because I do not have access. My previous report was: SPARK-588008

I am using the latest Webex version (45.2.0.31304), I have a MacBook Pro computer with the chip "Apple M1 Pro - Version 15.1.1 (24B91)"

I have the same problem. Somehow after it upgraded to Webex v45.2.0.31304 in the background a few days ago, I started to see the same behavior. Looks like it is not an OS issue since both Windows and Mac users have reported the same issue. When will this be fixed?

I am experiencing the same issue on an Intel Mac (2019)
OS: Sequoia 15.1.1 (24B91)
I think this happened somewhere after the last update a few days ago.
