How to get the VTT transcription into my MP4 for closed captioning?

Hi

I would like to be able to integrate the VTT file (after an edit) into my MP4 - in particular for playback on a Mac. It appears that I need to have a QT format transcription and not VTT. Does anyone know how to piece these together so I can create an MP4 with closed captioning that I can share with people?

Perhaps you may want to try VLC media Player since it allows to add a Subtitle File:

In a forum "somewhere on the Internet" I found:
"If the video file and the subtitle file have the same name (except for the extension) and are both in the same folder, the subtitles should load automatically."
