olla! is the aironet 1262 access point a good choice for an environment of about 20 users. each users is in an office and we are looking at deploying the ap at the end of the hall on a wall mount. would distance be a barrier and are there any better options out there?

Can't give you an answer because there's alot of factors to consider, such as:
1. Dimensions of the room; or
2. Obstacles;
By the way ... why choose 1260 instead of 1140?

Describing the layout of the building, we have a long hall with about 5
offices on each side of the hall. Each office is a room and they are all
separated by walls. I read the 1260 is a rugged access point but considering
the other features i figured it was an advancement over the 1140. Area of
coverage was a huge issue for me considering the AP would be mounted at the
entrance to the hall and the walls and other factors would be an
interference.
Kindly suggest what a preferrable option would be.

Why not consider a 1140 or if you have a WLC a 3500. The 1260 is more of a rugged access point.
