Bandwidth Shaping/policing between Leaf and Spine.

I am attempting to limit the traffic between Leaf and Spine on a new POD in a multiPOD setup so as not to overwhelm the IPN links. I see QOS Class option in fabric>access policy>Policies>Global>QOS Class. Here we have 6 level with 3 being default. If I take level 2 for example and set bandwidth allocation to 20 percent and call this level in all EPG in new POD. So all EPG will take in total of 20% or every EPG will be entitled for 20 percent of the bandwidth if needed.

Is there any other way to limit the traffic?

Dear @shubhanshu_jaiswal

Using QoS policies is a good starting point, but it’s important to understand that the bandwidth allocation is shared among all traffic using the same QoS class. If you want more granular control, consider using:

  1. contract-based filtering,
  2. EPG-level QoS policies, or
  3. traffic shaping

Additionally, ensure that your IPN links are optimized and monitor traffic patterns to make informed adjustments.

Please let me know, if you want more details about the above mentioned methods.

Hope This Helps!!!
