Hi, I am in the midst of designing a Remote Leaf (RL) solution and am wondering about their oob-mgmt ips. Since all the switches get assigned their oob-mgmt ips from the APIC where a pool/range is configured for the mgmt default oob epg, but in the case of the RLs since they are present in a different location/DC, that management network is not available there.
Can we have a separate pool/range just for the RLs?
thanks and appreciate your guidance!

Yes. The management IP of any node can be in as many subnets as you wish. No issues having RLs using subnet-B, while the rest of the primary fabric is using subnet-A.
If you had a large # of RLs, you could still use separate Mgmt IP Pools just to make the allocation quicker. Static is just easier this type of one-time activities.

Just statically assign your RL Management IPs. Then no pools are required.

Thanks Robert, you mean assign them static ips (a management network different from the primary site) from the APIC?
