Hi Suprit,

A false endpoint (EP) entry on the leaf switch, which has persisted even after the endpoint has moved to another switch is generally regarded as a stale endpoint entry. This can occur due to a lot of conditions a few can be noted as below -

1. No update received on the original switch after endpoint movement.

2. Issue on the epmc process on the leaf to remove the old endpoint entry.

The stale endpoints are mostly remote in nature. Since the Ep announce feature has been introduced, there has been very less cases of stale EP issues reported. Please check the endpoint whitepaper which has a lot of info on the feature - https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/solutions/collateral/data-center-virtualization/application-centric-infrastructure/white-paper-c11-739989.html

Hope this helps.
