In L3OUT we can use OSPF, EIGRP, Or BGP when choosing routing protocols. In case of Multi-tenancy , We need to use multiple instances of the routing protocol (OSPF/EIGRP). one instance for each tenant since each one is in a different VRF. This makes sense to me.
What I'm confused about is why do we need only 1 BGP process in multi-tenancy environment unlike OSPF or EIGRP ?
After Some research the answer is that BGP is VRF aware. Can someone elaborate on that with more details? And if we choose to use BGP, What about the IGP used? Do we still need multiple instances of it?
Thanks in advance.
