694 - Alarm PSU

CSCO12021643

Level 1

Hi,

We deployed a WAAS 694 lately and have the following issue.

The version used is : 4.4.5

This appliance has 2 PSU working just fine (we tested it), but we have the following alarm (show alarm detail) :

Critical Alarms:

----------------

None

Major Alarms:

-------------

Alarm ID                 Module/Submodule               Instance

---------------             --------------------          ---------------

1 psu_ac_status             sysmon/psu1_vinok            no power

Apr 17 15:19:48.096 UTC, Equipment Alarm, #000001, 1000:445040

Power Supply Unit (PSU1) reports AC lost

Minor Alarms:

-------------

None

The "show hardware | inc Power" command has the folling output :

System restart reason: Power-on.

Primary Power Supply Unit (Installed; No power)

Redundant Power Supply Unit (Installed; Powered)

We have already done a "shutdown poweroff" and a "clear bmc event-log" + reload, but without any success ...

It seems to be a known bug referenced as CSCtq33146 and which should be fixed in a previous release (4.43) !

Any idea how to fix this issue ?

Has someone got the same bug ?

Thanks for your help.

Ismaël

Hi Ismael,

Can you try to perform the following to clear the alarm?

Clear SEL logs using "clear bmc event-log" and reboot the device.

See if that helps to clear the alarm.  This bug is caused by errors in BMC logs which raise such alarm.

Regards

Rubens

Hi Rubens,

I already tried that, but the alarm is still there ...

Any other idea ?

Thanks anyway.

Regards.

Ismaël

Hi Ismael,

In this circunstancies it is better that you open a TAC case.  They will be able to get a sysreport from your WAAS device and look at the BMC logs to suggest a possible fix.

Best regards

Rubens
