ACE 4710 licensing limitation

I am needing some clarification as to what happens when you pass the 1Gbps throughput that the default licensing on ACE has.  Will the appliance start dropping packets?

With the design we have setup for the appliance we have two ports being used in the etherchannel between it and the switch, which can give us a 2Gbps max if needed.

Yes it should drop packets. Also worth noting that the 1Gbps throughput is between all interfaces in all directions in total. The ACE can be quite ruthless at times with dropping resource, but in a virtualised environment having this feature has saved other customer networks when things have gone wrong and there is excess data on a context.

Hope that's helpfull.

regards,

Dave.
