I need to have the ACE do a kind of port load balancing within each real server in the server farm. This amounts to one incoming port and many outgoing port. Currently I can only see how to set one outbound port, how can I set many. The Alteons can do it, surely the ACE can too?

The only way would be to configure a real server inside the serverfarm for each port you one to use.
There is no range option.
You could use a script to create the config for you and then copy paste it into the ACE terminal window.

I'm looking into that now, but is it not the case that you con't configure 2 rservers with the same IP?

This isn't possible:
ace-2/C1(config)# rserver host Test1
ace-2/C1(config-rserver-host)# ip address 10.1.1.1
ace-2/C1(config-rserver-host)# inservice
ace-2/C1(config-rserver-host)# rserver Test2
ace-2/C1(config-rserver-host)# ip address 10.1.1.1
Error: Duplicate IP address or subnet
Is there something that can be done with PAT?

Sorry Gilles, I misunderstood.
Did you mean the following?
serverfarm Test
rserver Test1 1112
inservice
rserver Test1 1113
inservice
rserver Test1 1114
inservice
I think this will work...

yes, that's exactly what I meant.
