ACNS 5.1 & Smartfilter

Hi

Just wondered if anybody has configured ACNS 5.1 with Smartfilter (also using NTLM authentication)?

Usual story running out of time before an install and discover that the version of Smartfilter under ACNS 5.1 is different to 5.01, also looks like it connects in a different way.

I've been told by a very help person at Secure that the Admin/Server 3.22 will work with 3.21 (whats on ACNS 5.1.5).

I basically can't get the server to see the SF plugin on the content engine, documentation seems to indicate you still only need the single enable line for SF on the CE, so I suspect its down to the server contact the plugin on the CE. Which is using port 8003, this has changed from 8001. Although its not documented it looks like it conntects to the same port as the GUI.

When I did it under 5.01 it was a 5 minute job, I'll continue applying my head to the brick wall but if you have any ideas that would be great.

I'll post a full account in this thread when Its fixed.

Cheers

Mark

Found it, I can confirm that the 3.22 admin console does work with the 3.21 SF plugin on the CE. The bit that got me which is the port number, isn't made crystal clear. The Smartfilter server agent actually logs in using an encrypted session to port 8003 and uses the admin password of the content engine (admin, default etc). Got it all together and works wonderfully (using ADS), will follow up this thread with info on the NT NTLM domain agent on how that works.
