ANM 5.1 Alarms

Hi All,

Quick question on ANM 5.1 (Great Tool)

How does one vewi 'old' alarms? i.e. alarms that have already cleared?

Also, while setting up and testing i have some 'stuck' alarms in the Alarm Notifications Page - I have since deleted the thresholds that these alarms were generated with. How can i deleted/ Ack/ Clear these alarms now?

• •1)      We cannot make any archiving for past/clear alarms at the moment, unfortunately.

You can have several workarounds here

• •-          use either SNMP traps or email notifications which ANM can send to some external receiver once alarm fires – see http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/data_center_app_services/application_networking_manager/5.1/user/guide/UG_monitor.html#wp1304661 Then you will need to track/store those traps/emails on external system.
• •-          another one, which is not so obvious – use “Export historical data” function to export the data (you will see multiple stats – resource usage, interface stat, LB stat in CSV format) and somehow parse it to get “extreme” values with separate scripts/software.

• •2)      For second question with “stuck” alarms.

Basically, we do not delete alarms from database, we clear it once the condition which triggered this went away.

TAC offered a remote session to clear the alarms from the DB with some remote assistance. Perhaps these items will be added to furture editions.
