CE 510 websense upgrade Please HELP!!

Hi all,

I am new to the CE device. I am being told by Websense support I need to upgrade websense which is onbox on the CE device. I am unable to find anything on CCO on how to do this and websense support is not being much help

The Websense software is located in the following directory on the CE:

/local1/WebsenseEnterprise/EIM

You can attempt to upgrade the Websense software using the Linux upgrade instructions from Websense. However, I have never actually done this, so you may just be better off upgrading the ACNS version you are running.

Thanks for the info, I am new to the CE device and on CCO under the ACNS is listed a websense.exe which kinda threw me for a loop as I was wondering how to install a .exe on linux. Thanks for the info will try the ACNS upgrade

HI,

the websense_xyz.exe on the CCO are for configuring the Websense rules on the CE. This is not the websense software doing the filtering. The websense filtering engine is embedded in the ACNS running on your CE. Hope that clarified things.
