Cisco ACE / continue serving existing sticky sessions after probe failure

This is probably not possible, but I'll ask anyway.

Is there a way on the Cisco ACE to continue serving existing sticky sessions, even if the real server associated with the sticky entry fails due to probe failure?

That is, all new requests that don't belong to any existing sticky sessions are load balanced to an operational real server. But any existing sticky sessions continue working on the real server with the failed probe.

Does anyone know of any Load Balancer product that could do this? A sort of persistence that would ignore the state of the real server.

Hi Timo,

The default behavior of the ACE is to do nothing with existing connections if a real server fails.

When a real server fails it is taken out of load balancing decisions.  I don't think any load balancer can ignore the state of a real server. If it does then what stops it from sending even new connections to it?

Regards,

Kanwal
