Cisco CSS: Sharepoint (SMB)

hello,

we have two Cisco CSS wich loadbalance a MS Shreapoint farm with two servers. All works fine (http traffic). "Unfortently" with MS Sharepoint you can browse the documents via fileshare (SMB protocol). e.g. \\sharepoint-server\docs.

So I have configured the CSS to loadbalance SMB traffic (TCP Port 445).

Now I can connect the sharepoint farm with the IP e.g. \\XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX\docs through the CSS, but I can't connect the sharepoint with the networkname e.g. \\sharepoint-server\docs

The Windows Client displays as error message "A dublicate name exists on the network".

Has someone successfully "loadbalanced" SMB traffic through th Cisco CSS and can give me some hints?

The problem is that all your reals share the same name and they will respond to wins query creating duplicate response.

you should use wins server and/or static entry.
