Hello,
Is it possible to geographically respond to the DNS queries via Cisco GSS. For e.g. if two data centers exist, one is New York and other in Washington, can requests coming from NY be responded with DNS rule pointing to NY and requests from WA is responded with DNS rule pointing to WA site.
Like, how does google, yahoo geographically redirect the user to the relevant country domain (.sg, .ca etc) when it enters http://www.google.com, www.yahoo.com from singapore or china.
Thanks.

GSS neither include any "GEO IP" database in its code nor can consult an external GEO IP Databse to make such decisions.
So there is no builtin support for the functionality you are looking for.
But GSS rules can be created to make decisions based on the source IPs of the Client DNS servers (called source address lists in GSS terminology ).
You can download/buy GEO IP databases from internet and can use this data to get the similar functionality.
For e.g create a source address list named "USA-IPs " with all the US IP addresses from the GEO IP database and create GSS DNS rule such that GSS only handover IP of datacenter in USA for DNS requests originated from DNS servers in "USA-IPs" source address list.
