I have an NME-WAE-502-K9 residing in a 2851 router. It is detected by the router:
R2851#show inventory
NAME: "Integrated Service Engine for Modular and Integrated Services Routers on Slot 1", DESCR: "Integrated Service Engine for Modular and Integrated Services Routers"
PID: NME-WAE-502-K9 , VID: V05 , SN: FOC13515ERL
NAME: "Integrated Service Engine Daughter Card on Slot 1 SubSlot 0", DESCR: "Integrated Service Engine Daughter Card"
PID: , VID: , SN: FOC13514LMW
and:
R2851#show cdp nei
Device ID Local Intrfce Holdtme Capability Platform Port ID

The config is:

service-module external ip address 192.168.1.100 255.255.255.0

!Application: Restarted at Wed Aug 24 13:36:10 2016

Its status:
R2851#service-module integrated-service-engine 1/0 status
Service Module is Cisco Integrated-Service-Engine1/0
Service Module supports session via TTY line 66
Service Module is in Steady state
Service Module heartbeat-reset is enabled
Getting status from the Service Module, please wait..
Cisco Wide Area Application Services Software 5.0.3h (b2 Jan 30 2015 06:25:51)
Restarted at Wed Aug 24 13:36:10 2016
But when I try to telnet into it I get:
R2851#service-module integrated-service-engine 1/0 session
Trying 172.16.1.1, 2066 ...
% Connection timed out; remote host not responding
Line 66 config is:
line 66
exec-timeout 0 0
login local
no activation-character
no exec

width 250
transport preferred telnet
transport input telnet
transport output telnet
I have read all sorts of Cisco info on setting there things up but I just can't get access into it. I can ping its external address and both internal addresses are pingable from the router's loopback. What am I doing wrong? Has anyone got any ideas or run into this problem in the past?

I might add that I have tried it in a Cisco 2811 router with the same results.
