Cisco WAAS and Riverbed compatiblity

Anyone know if it's possible to get a Riverbed talking to a Cisco waas?  If they use the same standard protocol (wccp) can the two work together?

Hi Ronnie,

This is not possible. Wccp is the protocol used for traffic redirection, to discover peers Waas uses autodiscovery , this happens by setting the tcp options to 0x21 in the tcp header of the connection.

Riverbed uses a similar tcp options and use different value , this is hardcoded onto the software to use this. This is the primary reason they cannot talk to each other.
