Configuring Cisco ISR-WAAS as inline?

I have new Cisco ONE ISR 4451 that comes with ISR-WAAS. I need to migrate from Cisco WAE (inline) to Cisco ISR 4451 (in-path)

Is it possible to configure Cisco ISR as in-path and how what is the best practice to migrate from WAE CM to Cisco ISR 4451 (ISR-WAAS)?

Hi Darren,

It dependends what you mean by "inline" ?

You'll need to route traffic through the router (from one interface to another), but Layer 3 routing is required.

And then do redirection - either AppNav (on one interface) or WCCP (on the two interfaces) in order to redirect traffic across the ISR-WAAS (which runs in a container on the ISR-4451).

So you could state that the router is in-path (or a bump-on-the-wire), but not really inline (the old inline deployment was a "Layer2 bridge" like solution).

Best regards

Finn

Hi Again,

Apparently Cisco has changed something, so WCCP is not supported on ISR-WAAS.

Sorry
