On a CSM, if there is more than one probe configured on a serverfarm, lets say 3 probes, ping, http and port 4400, if one of these probes fails then is the real server marked as failed, or do all 3 probes have to fail before the server is marked as failed, or is the specific service on the real server marked as down ?
Thanks in advance.

Dear Peter,
If you associate a probe of a particular type (http, icmp, etc)with a server farm containing real servers that are not running the corresponding service, the real servers send error messages when they receive a probe of that type. This action causes the CSM to place the real server in a failed state and disable the real server from the server farm.
If any of the probe failed, It will fail the real server.

when you configure multiple probes for the same serverfarm, all of them
have to be succeful in order to maintain the servers in OPERATIONAL
state: a failure of just one of the probes would put the server in
PROBE_FAILED state.
Gilles.
