css11500 and routing

Hello, I'm new to css 11550 but I know the old local director 400 series.

I have 2 questions about css 11500:

1- is the css able to use real servers (services) located in another lan and separated by a router ?

2- if the css balances 2 real server (services) binded to a virtual IP, is the css able to balance the 2 real server requests for a new virtual ip, binded to another 2 server ? (i.e.: front-end servers balanced, and back-end servers balanced for the requests coming from front-end servers)

Thank you in advance

Renato

HI Renato,

1) in my opinion yes; no problem if the return flow hits the CSS

2) again in my opinion a yes; if you take care on the flow back from the servers. Every singel step has to pass the CSS properly not bypassing content rule because otherwise the flow will be detected as DoS and dropped..
