CSS11503 Packet Drops - How to troubleshoot?

Customer says CSS11503 is dropping packets to Firewalls.

The troubleshooting steps are in the attached file.

Only if being in a lab with total control of traffic will you be able to use ping test and show commands to verify packet drops.

I would suggest to capture a sniffer trace frontend and backend and try to catch a packet that was dropped.

Also get a show tech just before and just after the capture.

finally, submit a service request if you have evidence of packets being dropped.

Similar to CAT switches "monitor session" commands are there any similar commands in CSS. I had a quick look at the docs. and I could not find any. So does that mean I have to do it at the other end of the CSS where the CSS connects to a switch port.

the command on the CSS is :

CSS11503-2(config)# setspan ?

src_port Configure Source Port for SPAN.

Look the documentation for all the details.

However, I always prefer to do it on the opposite site for this kind of issues.
