On a CSS11501 i have configured IP-Address, Subnet-Mask and Default-Gateway.
By checking all with the command <sho boot-config> i have this result:
!************************ BOOT CONFIG ************************
ip address 10.26.3.231
subnet mask 255.255.224.0
gateway address 10.26.2.1
primary boot-file sg0710206A
primary boot-type boot-via-disk
Everything looks ok, but i am not able to reach this IF from anywhere outside
of this IP-Subnet.
Any ideas?

gateway command is used to boot image resided on different subnet from the management ethernet interface.
The "ip management route" command will do the work.
See "Administration guide"for details.

the 'ip management route' command is only available in 6.10 for the first generation CSS.
The 11501 does not have this feature yet.
The workaround is to use a router nating the management device ip address to an ip address local to the management port.
Or increase the subnet range on the management port of the CSS and have a router doing proxy arp that will answer will arp request from the CSS.

Do you know if Cisco is planning to enable this feature in a later release?

Yes, this is our plan to support it on the 2nd generation CSS.
However, there is no target date available yet.
You might want to contact your local Cisco representative and ask him to put your name on the list of customer who needs this feature,
The more people on the list the sooner we get the feature.
