High CPU Utilization on MRTG for WAE 7300

Hi,

I'm monitoring an WAE 7300  content-engine on our network. I constantly see that the graph hit over 90% on CPU utilization. But when I logged into the box and performed a "show processes CPU", it's showing a pretty low CPU usage. I'm using the HOST-RESOURCES-MIB file OID

1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.3.1.2 to check CPU load. For other things such as memory usage, status of intefaces, etc... using that MIB file shows correct information. Any advise which information I should trust? The one I got from SNMP or the one I saw when I logged into the box?

Thanks,

Huy

Hi Huy Vu,

What is the software version you are running? There a couple of bugs that can cause the behavior you are describing, but they got fixed in version 4.1.3

Anyway, in case of doubt, always trust the value displayed on the CLI, this one is taken directly from the kernel so it should always be correct.

Regards

Daniel
