Hi Mahesh,

here are few CLI commands to verify if WAAS is doing its job.

1. sh stat conn - List of all pass thru and optimized connections with details of optimization.

2. sh stat accelerator - check the status of the accelerator to see if it is doing it's job.

3. sh accelerator - Check to see which accelerators are enabled.

4. sh license - to verify if you tave transport / enterprise / video licenses.

5. sh alarm - to see if there is anything to worry about.

Above commands are true for WAAS 4.1.x, 4.2.x and 4.3.x versions. if you are using 4.0.x, the commands might be slightly different.

You wll find version dependent CLI command guides here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6870/prod_command_reference_list.html

Hope this helps.

Regards.

it does not show it is working

Hi Mahesh,

Yes, WAE is not optimizing traffic it seems.

Can you paste following CLI command from WAE?

sh wccp routers

sh egress method

sh run (you can put in the dummy ip address replacing original ip add)

Further, it also looks like you are using Legacy (OLD) CIFS optimization. We have to turn off old CIFS and turn on new CIFS AO which is disabled.

Please follow the information in this white paper:http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/contnetw/ps5680/ps6870/white_paper_c11-508426.html

Enterprise license means, you can use HTTP,CIFS, NFS, MAPI, EPM accelerators to optimize those individual traffic.

Regards.

Hi

sh egress-methods

Intercept method : WCCP

  TCP Promiscuous 62 :

                        Egress Method      Egress Method

                        Egress Method      Egress Method
      Destination        Configured            Used
      -----------  ----------------------  -------------
      any          not configurable        IP Forwarding

#sh wccp  routers
This command is only available when running WCCP version 2

here is required info

Hmmm. Looks like WCCP is not working. not sure what hardware you are using on router / switching side ? Are you ising inline mode?

Regards.

Thanks for reply.

how can i check if it is inline mode?

Hi bhavin

many thanks for the help.

for  some reasons i can not put config here.

In that case, I would suggest you to open a TAC case or involve your Cisco Sales engineer to help you with this deployment.

For your help, all the documentation is listed here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6870/tsd_products_support_series_home.html

You probably want to go thru the Traffic interception topic to understand your deployment.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v431/configuration/guide/traffic.html

Hope this helps.

Regards.

BTW, looking at your config, this is Edge Waas. But in new CIFS AO, it WAE assumes role dynamically for edge and core.
