SK Ameen .

Hi ,

We are seeing intrface errors on the gi 1/0 port of a WAVE-7371. We changed the cables but it didnot help. The switch interface conected to the WAE looks good and no errors are found on it. port settings are same on both the sides

The mangement port of this device is standby 1 and gig 1/0 is configured as primary for the standby 1.

Please advice.

Hi Ameen,

what kind of errors are you seeing? Could you post a "show interface " output taken on the 7371 ?

You said you changed the cable and that did not help. Have you tried using another port on the switch?

Do you see errors when the other gig interface is configured as primary ?

thanks,

Fabrizio

Hi Fabrizio,

The Input errors on the interface are not increasing continuosly. The interface was stable after replacing the cable, after few days there was increae in the errors. for past 24 hrs the interface is stable. We have not tried swapping the ports as the other interface on the WAE is connected to different router.

Hi Ameen,

I would try to connect gig1/0 to another port on the switch and see if it makes any difference. Also since gig1/0 is member of standby 1, I assume there is a secondary interface in the standby group 1. Swapping primary/secondary interface could also be useful to isolate the problem.

thanks,

Fabrizio
