Load balancing to remote location

Hi All,

Today I got a query from one if my client.

He wants to load balance traffic between two location using ACE. He was asking whether that's possible.

He got a rserver in US datacentre and another rserver in a different location. He wants to load balance traffic going to an URL between these 2 servers.

I told him we need something like a GSS or GTM box to achieve this.

I am curious to know whether there is anyway to do this.

DNS with two A records?

Request an DNS record with your DNS guys which points to the virutal ip address (the ip address of your class-map assigned to your ace configuraiton).

Then setup the serverfarm with both realservers and you are ready.

If you have like 2 ACE cluster hosting different Virtual ip ranges you would of course need an higher instance of loadbalancing between those 2 clusters as well. (GSS or GTM would be used here)

Normaly a DNS A Record pointing to the virutal ip address of your loadbalancer (I guess u have a ACE failover pair) should do the trick

:-)
