I'm hoping someone can clarify support of the mtrace command in NX-OS.
I've got a mixture of IOS and NX-OS devices running multicast in our network and when running mtrace on the IOS devices (6500s) everything is fine. However when I run mtrace on the 7ks I dont get anything useful at all it just gives strings of * * *. The nexus devices respond to mtrace traffic originated from the IOS devices fine, showing PIM and the routing entry. However mtrace doesn't work on the nexus's. The network itself is fine and is running multicast without any problems, so I know its not the network that has issues.
Does NX-OS only support the server part of mtrace or does it also support the client functionality?
Any thoughts appreciated.
