As we all know, pushing TCP through a satellite has many drawbacks. With enough money the latency can be reduced. Proxy caching of DNS and HTTP helps a great deal.
I am trying to located some technical papers on the true way to design the part of a network. No matter what the numbers say, it is always the perception of the non-network savvy client that causes all the complaints.
How do you please the dial up client at the end of a satellite link that never worked correctly? Any CISCO papers available?
