VDI optimization over WAN

We are facing a challenge with Virtual desktops in our remote sites.

Our remote office users use either VDI thin client (like WYSE) or normal computer to connect to their VDI in the data center.The WAN optimizer we use is WAAS between the remote site and data center. Data center and remote sites are connected by MPLS cloud. The issue is that the VDI desktop freezes for all the users randomly. (especially when they try to upload some data on the share) This issue is happening for all the three remote sites accessing VDIs. We DO NOT have any specific optimization turned ON for VDI traffic. I am not sure if there is some specific options to be turned ON for VDI optmization on our Cisco WAAS. The bandwidth across the path looks less than 40 percent utilized at any point of time. The server team says everything looks fine at their end. I am seeking some assistance from all you guys. Feel free to ask more questions.

Hi Vinayak,

There is no special configuration on waas for VDI currently. There is no reason why trafic disruption might be happenning. Can you confirm the following below.

1. VDI Display protocol and Version ?

2. Is the issue , happening even without waas ?

3. Server Infrastructure details such as Hypervisor , Connectionbroker version ?

4. VDI desktop OS affected ?
