Does anyone have any experience in the field (an actual customer network, not a lab environment) of implementing the Citrix AO on WAAS 4.5?

We have over twenty WAVE boxes running 4.5.1. Sites running Citrix XenDesktop via a WYSE terminal are seeing an average of 65% reduction. The more WYSE terminals we have the higher the reduction appears to be. (More common data cached). XenApp traffic is also optimized. We have run 4.5.1 since December 9, 2011 with no issues. We have it running on SRE-900L, 274, 474, 574, 594, 674, 7341 & a vWAAS-CM. Everything has been stable.
You will need to set the Citrix-ICA Classifier to full optimization. (TFO/DRE/LZ).
Annoying quirk about it is all Citrix Classifier traffic is bundled under Application name "Remote-Desktop". So if you have RDP/3389 traffic that is not optimized and you have Citrix/1494 traffic that is optimized. It will be reported under the same application name, thus making your reports appear with lower optimization. If you try to get creative and simply rename the Citrix Classifier to use another Application Name and track it, the Monitor/Acceleration/ICA Acceleration Report will not display your ICA traffic. You have to let classifier Citrix-ICA traffic keep the application name "Remote-Desktop" and rename all of the other policys that use Remote-Desktop to something else. We used "Remote-Desktop-Other". Later version like 4.5.5 and version 5 should fix this. Citrix classifier traffic will be marked with a unique Application name.
Hope this helps
