WAAS Express

We have a router which has WAAS Express and connects to our WAAS Central Manager. The router connects via easyvpn to our ASA and receives a management IP address from the ASA IP pool. When the router first registers with the WAAS Central Manager it uses the ASA pool ip address which changes each time the router dials in.

Can the router on the WAAS Central Manager be changed to use the local IP address of the device, which is always the same and contactable from the network, or is there a setting on the WAAS Central Manager that allows the IP address to update each time it connects?

I hope this makes sence

Hi,

The CM will set as IP address of the WAE the IP that is used to register it.

If in your case the router is using his VPN IP to contact the CM, this is the one that will be seen on the CM and there is AFAIK no way to change that.

The CM won't like that the router changes IP each time so you'll need to make sure the router gets the same IP from ezvpn each time (Create a ezvpn group for the router only with a single IP in the pool maybe?)

Regards,

Nicolas
