What can be done to correct this?

This is just the old partitioning scheme from 4.0 days. The second box was running 4.0 at some point but the paritioning scheme was not changed to preserve your cache. The first box started with 4.1, or if it was upgraded from 4.0 this command was run (it will clear your DRE and CIFS cache, and require a reload).
