Which WCCP setup will result in better performance in a WAAS enviroment?

Hi,

which WCCP setup will result in better performance in a WAAS enviroment?

- It's a remote branch

- The WAN is based on a DMVPN design and the local bandwidth is 4 Mbit/s

- A WAVE 694 will be installed

- App. 100 user

Two solutions are discussed

- Cisco 1941 as WAN routers covering also WCCP (generic GRE)

- Cisco 1941 as WAN routers and WCCP will be implemented 3750X switches (L2 redirect)

Hi Peter,

Software-based forwarding can lead to higher CPU utilization and as a best practice this is to be avoided, so I recommend Mask Assignment and redirected packets hardware switched.
