Cisco customers and partners are welcome to join us for a one-day hands-on workshop for DevOps, Infrastructure and IT Automation Engineers wanting to understand more about how to manage their Cisco Compute Infrastructure using Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
The aim is to provide attendees with UCS Management experience and UCS Management API skills that will help them get started or take them to the next level.
What will the workshop cover?
MORNING
First of all, we will give everyone an overview of UCS Management, from 10,000 servers down to one.
Then we'll set you up so you can access the tools needed for the hands-on aspects of the workshop.
This will be followed by an Introduction to PowerShell, Python and Ansible basics, to give you the background knowledge you need for when you're working with the APIs and SDKs.
AFTERNOON
The afternoon will focus on UCS API Interfaces: how to programmatically control physical and logical compute elements.
We will use UCS PowerTool and the UCS Python SDK to Query and provision UCS Servers, we will programmatically create organizations, MAC pools and Service Profiles
We will install the UCS Ansible Modules and configure several UCS Management Policies.
