base skills to leverage Jabber SDK

Experts,

I have a customer who does not have any in-house developers.  And would like to know what it takes to pickup and leverage Jabber SDK.   would someone please suggest what is some base skills my customer should have to use Jabber SDK.

is it Java? 

or does Cisco or any training partner for an online course to learn?

need this answer quickly as we're against the clock to showcase an integrated solution, and integrated means getting UC to work inside of applications.

• Familiar with HTML and CSS Web application development technology
• Understand the basic syntax of Java script development
• Understand the usage of JQuery
• Understand the structure of the XML language
