Sorry, for the confusion, but I pressed Enter to soon earlier.

So, I am trying to get Jabber Brower Plug In running for Google Mail as shown in following Video: Cisco UC Gadget - YouTube

But I am struggling with following step:

Deploy the cwic.js and ciscobase.js files to your webserver and add a softphone to your existing web application.

Could anyone please help me out?

Regards

Irena

The Jabber voice and video SDK is implemented as a browser plugin with some Javascript libraries provides as the interface for configuration, commands and events - the cwic.js and ciscobase.js files represent the core Jabber JS libraries, and should be included in your app.  To 'deploy' simply means to copy the .js files to your web server so they are available to as includes in your page.

Adding a softphone refers to implementing the JS requests/events in your app necessary to initialize the Jabber SDK plugin and handle calls.  This video tutorial covers the basics:

Hello dstaudt,

thanks for the explanation. As far as I understand you can include it into your homepage.

My concern is the following: The customer got the youtube video that I linked before where an amazing guy is showing the world this pug-in, that is implemented into googlemail and where you can call directly from googlemail. Cisco UC Gadget - YouTube

How can I implement this? or am I on the wrong path?

Thanks in advance

There is an install tutorial and download available for the Google gadget:

https://developer.cisco.com/site/collaboration/jabber/websdk/learn/voice-and-video-how-to/install-google-gadget/

Note, this is provided as a sample code project - not a production product - so there is no formal support.  Theoretically a change by Google could cause problems, and Cisco may or may not ever update this code.

Both of these links are now broken.

I'm trying to figure out if this "plugin" is the same as the chrome extension.

I found a plugin but I am not able to download it until I get the correct credentials.

I've integrated the jabber js files into wordpress, but I keep getting an error about "pluginNotFound"

Any help would be appreciated.

This is the updated 'embed a softphone link':

https://developer.cisco.com/site/jabber-websdk/learn/voice-and-video-how-to/embed-softphone/

The link to the 'Google gadget' page is here, though it seems to have become unlinked from the Jabber pages.  This is likely intentional, as the page has a note that GMail gadgets have been obsoleted by Google:

To use Jabber with Chrome you will need both the 'Jabber SDK Browser Add-On' and the 'Chrome Browser Extension' available on this page:

Try the evaluation version if the add-on if you do not have software download access (via TAC support contract) for Cisco.com
