Jabber SDK Browser Add On and Windows 8/10 not working

I have installed Jabber SDK browser addon (Ver 11_MR1) for Windows on our Win 7 machines. along with Chrome Web Communicator, and Cisco Jabber Client (11.6.0 ) with no issues. I am able to dial my TEL: hyperlinks on IE, Firefox, and Chrome. However on our WIN 8 and 10 machines when you click on TEL: hyperlinks nothing happens. Also under default programs it shows CHROME as the application for TEL: and I am unable to change it. Any ideas?

I have been looking for a way to get Chrome to no longer be the default for this for some time.

This can be manipulated by deleting the 'Tel:' registry value at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\StartMenuInternet\Google Chrome\Capabilities\URLAssociations\
